1- Head Aftercare Teacher Looking for someone interested in leading/running a preschool/K social justice & art afternoon program (M-TH 3-6pm) + Friday full day excursions program geared towards POC kids age 2-7 years in collaboration with Boomshake Music. Main program site in Oakland, around Lake Merritt. 2. ALSO Looking for a Childcare Worker who can support Engagement/Unschooling Activities with Kids on Monday evenings 7-9PM. Someone who loves kids, is always excited about social justice, embodies and lives Black & Brown power/knowledge/beauty, takes initiative and has a good/committed work ethic. This coming winter session, we explore & share our ancestral rhythms and songs leading up to our Drumluck intergenerational community gathering. Learn new skills/rhythms, dig deep into your ancestral landscape, and share our collective experiences via drumming, play/movement and song. Holding values of social justice, creative expression and skill-building our classes are open to POC people & allies who are committed to centering and prioritizing the involvement and experiences our our participants. Celebrate a new season and each other with song, dance and stories. Fall session Tyke Tunes culminating community celebration/potluck. Join BoomShake for some major booming and shaking to ward off the cold season. Let's see how many languages, songs, bangs, shakes and wiggles we can fit in one big room.   We work together to build and share a repertoire of music, songs, dance, and stories from the ancestral cultures and languages of participants and facilitators. In the past we've had songs/games in Chinese, Igbo, Korean, Hindi, Amharic, Spanish, Farsi & more! We look forward to discovering and learning with you. Are you excited about using art and creativity as a form of activism and community building? Join our annual intergenerational drum-theater production the 'Streets are Free' by enrolling in our 10-week street drumming workshop. Learn new skills/rhythms, co-create a performance, and share our collective experiences via drumming, story-telling and song. Holding values of social justice, creative expression and skill-building, this workshop is open to all levels of player from never-drummed to proficient drummer.
