It's been a loooooooong year, but there are some signs of hope on the horizon. Let's reconnect safely and start healing with our sacred music medicine! BoomShake cultural leaders Monica Hastings-Smith and Pedro Rosales will facilitate weekly community drumming, play/movement and song. Holding values of social justice, creative expression and skill-building, this workshop is open to all levels of player from never-drummed to proficient drummer. We aim to create a welcoming space where Womxn, trans and gender non-conforming people can be loud, active, and inspiring participants of culture while building friendships and support systems for the movement.

Bring your own bass, surdo, tom, snare, caija, repinique, cowbell, agogo, cajón, or conga.

Also bring your own hearing protection - we get loud!

  • Everyone must wear a mask - if you arrive without one, we'll ask you to go home or go find something to use as a mask before entering
  • We'll maintain physical distance throughout the class
  • We'll arrive early to class to scope out a location with less people
  • We can make barriers & signs, and also have enforcers if it seems like it's needed
  • Bring your own mask, hand sanitizer, and water
  • We'll be outside the entire time, so that means no bathroom access
  • Participants need to bring their own drumsticks/mallets, or purchase them from us at cost
