Summer Street Drumming for Womxn/Trans/GNC Folk of Color

A summer workshop to build your Street Drumming aptitude! Using Funky rhythms, participants will explore street drumming performance techniques including call and response breaks, movement, song and playing in an ensemble.

Holding values of social justice, creative expression and skill-building, this workshop is open to all levels of player from never-drummed to proficient drummer. We aim to create a welcoming space for Womxn, trans and gender non-confirming people of color to be loud, active participants of culture and build community. We prioritize and center the participation of people of color in this class, especially Black and Brown people.

Summer 2018 registration is currently open to people of color [POC], spots for non-POC are currently full. Priority enrollment for Black & Brown folk.

*Participant Childcare exchange support provided [participants take weekly shifts to support children in attendance]

Partial, full and payment-plan scholarships available for self-identified low-income people of color (you are welcome to make a donation of any amount to support our programs).
